Employment: Director of Accounting

Job Summary

The Director of Accounting oversees all financial and accounting operations for Sunrise Park Resort operations and serves as a member of the management team.

The operations require a self-driven, precise, and operationally-focused leader.  Assertive when needed. The Director of Accounting must balance integrity, sincerity, values, and standards to ensure superior results.  Additionally, an understanding of or willingness to learn about the snow sports and mountain resort industries is vital to achieving success in this position.

Employment Status/Type: Year-Round Full Time

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting, business, or finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Compensation: DOE

  • Return on Investment Analysis
  • Operating Budgets
  • Capex Budgets
  • Accounting/Budgeting Support for all departments
  • New Systems Implementations
  • Internal Audit

Supervisory Functions

  • Lead and mentor accounts payable, payroll, cash room and ticketing operations.
  • Ensure high standards of performance across all operations through managing, coaching, and annually reviewing performance of managers and supervisors.


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting, business, or finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certified Public Accountant credentials desired
  • Resort or service industry background preferred
  • Experience in multi-divisional company environments preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Experience with multiple business transactions systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data base reporting systems
  • Understanding of risk management and employment law and practices

Sunrise Park Resort is a wholly owned and operated tribal entity of the White Mountain Apache Tribe and is located in Greer, Arizona.  Sunrise is Arizona’s premier mountain resort destination.  Elevation – 9,200 feet above sea level.
